ryzhie- drifting off

its been months since the last time i posted something here. this blog isn't working anymore for me. im stuck in our house and unable to do the things that i love.. except reading. im close to reading all the books i've bought and by the time comes.. i won't have anything to read again. damn! life really sucks! im just lucky i have Amber who takes away the frown off my face. tonight, i'll watch the same tv channels. if i get bored, i'd get my brain cells exhausted to sodoku until i fall asleep. God! i am so, so frustrated. Good thing i got to watch New Moon a while ago, though i wasn't really satisfied. I really wish somebody would help me get out of this mess! Life's just so hard. Just don't forget to smile... always! ^^

99 Ballons

I just saw the video of Eliot, a baby who was diagnosed of Trisomy 18 or Edward's syndrome and is unlikely to live when born. ****Infants born with Edwards syndrome may have some or all of the following characteristics: kidney malformations, structural heart defects at birth (i.e., ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus), intestines protruding outside the body (omphalocele), esophageal atresia, mental retardation, developmental delays, growth deficiency, feeding difficulties, breathing difficulties, and arthrogryposis (a muscle disorder that causes multiple joint contractures at birth).[8][9] Some physical malformations associated with Edwards syndrome include: a small head (microcephaly) accompanied by a prominent back portion of the head (occiput), low-set, malformed ears, abnormally small jaw (micrognathia), cleft lip/cleft palate, upturned nose, narrow eyelid folds (palpebral fissures), widely-spaced eyes (ocular hypertelorism), drooping of the upper eyelids (ptosis), a short breast bone, clenched hands, underdeveloped thumbs and or nails, absent radius, webbing of the second and third toes, clubfoot or Rocker bottom feet, and undescended testicles in males.[8][9]*** Eliot lived for 99 days... I greatly admired his parents for not actually giving up. They lived each day solely for that day and not thinking about tomorrow or whatever it is coming. They celebrated everyday as his birthday. Watching it brought tears in my eyes. I may not understand exactly how they feel but I can see that they feel blessed for having Eliot for 99 days when they were told they wouldn't.

Slightly Series by Mary Balogh

This is the story of Colonel Aidan Bedwyn who married Eve Morris, daughter of a coal miner because of a promise to a dying comrade.
This one is of Rannulf BEdwyn and Judith Law, the redhead daughter of a clergyman. Can you imagine Freyja Bedwyn giving Joshua Moore two punches straight to his face before marrying him? Such a lovely story. I love this particular one. I still don't have the three remaining books in this series coz i haven't found them yet.. but Im really excited to get my hands to these!!! Im looking forward of reading the story of Wulfric. IT would surely delight me.

The Hundred Islands

Every year, we go to the Hundred Islands (Alaminos, Pangasinan) to take a dip, swim, to get tanned or just simply to enjoy the summer. I remember when I was 18 or 19 I was badly burned due to non-stop activities under the scorching sun. It was really painful.. Can't sleep on my back and I can't even wear a brassiere for like 2 days and after a week, my skin was peeling off like i was some sort of a snake eeww Hehe Last year (December 2008), I was with my friends and the only thing I won't forget with that trip was when we swam from one island to another. I consider it as an adventure and accomplishment because I've never thought I could pull off something like that. This year, we went back again with my family of course. Here are some of the pictures.

Everytime I come across a book related to being a knight especially if the plot is good, I purchase it. Anyway, Im subscribed to http://Free-eBooks.net/ and this week's list of free e-books include A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain. Check it out! Enjoy!!

Ozine Fest 2009

GET READY FOR THIS!!! It's a 3-day anime event which starts April 3 'til April 5. I've never been to any Ozine Fest so this will be my first. I heard this is a huge event so I'm expecting a lot. I've invited several of my workmates to come and join but most won't be able to do it since we only have one rest day and the schedules are conflicting. I'm still hoping they would make it. I'm sure they would love the experience. ^^ Ja matta ne!!

Worries

Aside from the cultural differences of Arabs from us Filipinos that we may not be aware of.. One thing that worries me a lot is FOOD. Yup! I know.. I'm not stupid to think of food in situations like this but can you blame me? Food gives me energy. Food comforts me. If its a lot different from the one I'm used to, my taste buds might reject it.. and end up malnourished haha ^^ Kidding aside I'm really worried about food. I love eating!!! Its an Arab country. Pork is not allowed. Definitely I'm gonna miss Adobo (sa toyo and bagoong alamang), Pork Nilaga, Embutido, Lechon, Pork BBQ, Lechon Paksiw, Bicol Express, Giniling, Menudo,Dinakdakan, Sisig, Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Tocino, Longganiza and a lot more!!! HAARRRR Is there even LUcky Me Pancit Canton/Mami there? How about Halo-Halo? Turon? Balot? Isaw? Nuggets? Calamares? Fish Balls etc., SIOMAI!!! SIOPAO!! I think I'm gonna be depressed. Of course, its not just food that worries us. We'll gonna be alone there. Kim and I. No families, close friends and Amber. It'll be for years. I just hope there's internet and phone signal there haha! I promise I wouldn't go there if there is no way to communicate with all our loved ones here.

Leaving for KSA

Me and my bestfriend Kim were just making up our minds going to Ilocos for a month or two for hospital duty when I visited last Tuesday. After an hour or so.. her Aunt called in looking for Tita Dulce (mom) and I told her she wasn't there.. so she asked for Kim.. told her she's upstairs and so she asked me to fetch her. On my way upstairs, I spoke to Ate It's and was infomred Kim is taking a bath. I told Ate It's to just talk to Aunt Fleda and get the message coz maybe its something that pertains to the family. So there she goes! And then upon speaking with Aunt Fleda for a few seconds, she told me Aunt Fleda would like to speak to me rather. I told myself "okay. that's odd". After I said hello, she said " Hey! You and Kim has VISA's going to Saudi already. Amy is just looking for agencies they can endorse you two". Honestly, I was shocked. We NEVER expected that the processing will go through because we never spoke to Aunt Amy after she left. "You should start getting your requirements authenticated" she added. I said.. "Okay. I'll just tell Kim later then. Thanks!" Right after I placed the phone back to its place, I went upstairs back on the bathroom door and told her everything. haha I can imagine the look on her face upon hearing the good/bad news. Good because finally,we'll be able to leave the country to work as a nurse.. Bad because we don't like it there. Dammam KSA. We heard feedbacks from family and friends never to work in a private facility in KSA coz its not really good. **my apologies to the kingdom** This comments are based from their personal experiences. We can't blame ourselves for thoughts like that one coz it is scaring the hell out of us. We'd rather, well.. I would rather ride Space Shuttle over and over again if I have to just to prevent me from going to KSA. . But it would really be foolish to think as if that'll happen. I told Kim, if only we have another choice we can decline this KSA thing.. but do we have another choice? NO. Haha! In a month or two.. we'll be leaving the country. This is it! I'll just consider this as one of the adventures in my life. Who knows?? Good things might happen there. We'll just prevent our brain cells thinking of the bad side.. FOCUS that is. ^^

Moon Shadows

This book may not be included in the Once Upon Series ( because of the title I believe so..) But this is a great one. Again I bought it when I was in college and from then on I've never seen it hit the shelves even of the biggest bookstores here in Manila. I don't know why.. But I guess I'm lucky enough to have it. hihihi :D
Wolf Moon would be the first on my list and Blood on the Moon the second. I love all the stories. Others may seem to be disappointed with the book but not me... If an author can satisfy my desire for stories like this and make me endure the pain on my back lying for hours just to finish the book, you got my attention. I've been a fan of stories like this and will always be. ^^ And as long as fans like me will kept on believing in fairy tales or paranormal love stories, those type of authors will always make it in print.

Selected Vampire Novels

I got the book PROTECTOR held between my upper arm and ribs and about to leave the shelves when I noticed this book. God! I was amused by the title alone. Been dreamin' of that yep! haha I left Protector and took with me this book even if the price was a pain to my pocket. I enjoyed for a few hours though. I guess it's worth it. We'll I've got a cute book like this. Not as serious as the one I previously bought. This one has enough humor to make me laugh during the night. ^^
This one I'm still reading. I just started yesterday after I read Morrigan's Cross. Unfortunately I fell asleep so I was able to turn a few pages only. I don't know when I'm gonna continue.. I'm a bit upset right now bcoz of this damn job. Until now we're groping in the dark. Yeah, Touching in th Dark hehe^^
Like All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire, this one has has humor put into it. Having characters gathered in the Woo Woo Inn.. true supernaturals and pretenders all in one spot. And yeaH! Don't forget the demons lurking in the dark and some solitary ghost. There might be less adventure, but still a nice read. ^^

Stars of Mithra by Nora Roberts

I've read the first two books in this series a month ago. It was compiled in one book entitled STARS. I thought the last installment will be coming only in a compiled edition with another story but when I visited a book store, I saw that the first two were separated. Honestly, I went crazy right there and then anticipating that I'm gonna be able to read the last book. Unfortunately, there wasn't. The store doesn't have it yet. =( *sighs* From time to time I drop by to that store before I go home just to check if they have it already. And as always, I end up buying a book I can spend my travelling and boring hours with. ^^

Circle Trilogy

I just finished this one yesterday. Really "Bitin"! The story revolve around gathering the circle, knowing the life and history of new members, learning to trust each other, having small "fights" with vampires, and the love story between the sorcerer Hoyt McKenna and Glenna Ward, the witch. The story ended in a marriage which was interrupted by vampires who attacked in the middle of the ceremony, nevertheless continued upon winning the pre-war battle. I wonder who's love story will be focused on the next book. I do hope it'll be Moira, the scholar and Cian, the vampire. ^^

KNIGHTHOOD

Got this one around first quarter of '04. Given as a gift from a friend I haven't heard from since '07 I guess. =( This I got from Booksale in Starmall Shaw Blvd. Story a bit similar to that one above. Well, I told you Im a Knight in heart and in soul ^^
